How do I apply?

There are two easy ways to apply:

What is the Santa Cruz Seaside Company?

The Santa Cruz Seaside Company is a locally-owned organization which operates the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Boardwalk Bowl, Carousel Beach Inn and the Sea & Sand Inn.

I would like to apply for several different positions. Do I need to fill out an application for each job?

No. Once you create your applicant account, you may apply for as many jobs as you would like.

I have a resume, do I still need to fill out an application?

Yes. An application is required, but you may also attach your resume within the application.

How will I know if my resume or application has been received?

You will get a confirmation email once your application has been submitted. Please note that due to the high volume of applicants, there is no guarantee you will be contacted for an interview.

How old do I have to be to work at the Boardwalk?

You must be 16 by 7/1/18. Although we do open a few positions for 15-year-olds. Please call if you wish to know whether we have current openings for 15-year olds

When do you start hiring for summer jobs at the Boardwalk?

Typically, hiring begins in early January and will continue throughout the summer. The Boardwalk is open on weekends year-round (closed December 1-24) and open daily starting around spring break through Labor Day. Please see our calendar for more information about the Boardwalk's operating schedule.

The best time to apply is between January and May when we do most of our hiring and training in preparation for a busy spring break and summer.

Where do I park?

Park in the Boardwalk's Main Parking Lot, across the street from Neptune's Kingdom. Please bring your parking ticket and we will validate it for free parking.

Are there employee perks?

Yes! Free Boardwalk ride wristbands, free mini golf, discounted metro bus passes, deals on food, bowling, merchandise, discounts for other amusement parks, local movie theaters and more!

What are the personal appearance or grooming standards?

At the Santa Cruz Seaside Company, we strive to create an environment where our Guests create lifetime memories. We want our appearance to reflect the world-class park that we are.

Hair:

Employees should choose hairstyles that compliment interactions with our Guests. Hairstyles and colors should be natural and not extreme.  It's important that Guests and others you interact with can see your face, especially your smile. Please ensure hair is away from your face using hair clips, hair ties or bands. Hair accessories should be complementary to the uniform. Food Service employees must comply with the Department of Health regulations.

Sideburns should be straight, neatly trimmed, and may extend to the end of the earlobe. Beards, mustaches, and goatees are allowed; however, they must be neatly trimmed and not longer than one inch. An established beard is an intentionally grown beard, not several days of not shaving. Other than established beards, mustache and goatees, you are expected to be cleanly shaven every work day. An established beard must not have any empty spaces between the sideburns, mustache or goatee.

Special note: Employees required to wear respirators must meet fit-test requirements that may require a clean-shaven face.

Jewelry:

Please select tasteful and appropriate jewelry to wear at work. Jewelry should be both safe and appropriate for your work environment. Food Service employees must comply with Department of Health regulations.

You may wear up to three earrings per ear. Earrings may not exceed two inches in length or diameter. Stud earrings can be no larger than ¼ inch in diameter.

You may wear one small nose stud no bigger than 2mm. No other visible pierced jewelry or body adornment is allowed. You may wear plugs, no tunnels or tapers, that are a plain, solid color, and do not exceed ¼ inch in diameter.

Tattoos:

Tattoos are not permitted if visible when wearing a company-issued uniform or when wearing professional dress. You cannot cover visible tattoos with bandages, jewelry or makeup. Long sleeves that are solid black or white in color are permitted for uniformed employees.
