The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk offers 35 rides for visitors of all ages.

Guests may take in spectacular views of the Monterey Bay while enjoying everything from heart-pounding thrill rides to charming kiddy rides.

National Historic Landmarks
Two of the Boardwalk’s most popular rides are also the park’s most historic.

Giant Dipper: This wooden roller coaster has taken more than 54 million riders on a seaside adventure like no other!
Built in 1924, it is the 6th oldest roller coaster in the U.S

Carousel: One of the few remaining Looff carousels, this charmer features original band organ music and 73 hand-carved horses. Built in 1911, it features one of the few working ring machines in the country.

Thrillers
Double Shot: Riders are launched 125 Feet skywards at more than 3 G's to a breathtaking view of the California Coast.

WipeOut: A surf themed tumble in a darkened seaside cavern. Watch out for sharks.

Cliff Hanger: Cliff Hanger is sure to prompt shouts of “I can fly.”

Fireball: Fireball swings daring riders into the sky while swirling them in a frenzy of excitement.

Hurricane: A high-tech metal roller coaster, Hurricane catapults guests around its pretzel-like body at 4.5 Gs and banking angles up to 80 degrees.

Logger’s Revenge: Watch out for the water! This log ride offers an ocean view ride and then a closing dip to remember.

Pirate Ship: Ahoy mateys! Swing high and swing back and forth, but beware out for those pirates in your stomach.

Crazy Surf: Catch a wave without even getting wet! The Crazy Surf takes passengers on a 12-foot swell of exciting clockwise and counterclockwise revolutions.

Whirlwind: This ride lifts passengers forward and spins them in a spiraling two-and-a-half-minute adventure. Phew!

Tsunami: Keep dry, but expect to sweat with excitement in a circling frenzy of fun (frontward and backward).

Rock ‘n’ Roll: Cool cars and cruisin’ music make this spinner a classic keeper.

Riptide: A classic tilt-a-whirl with an oceanfront view.

Tornado: Watch out Toto! This newer Boardwalk thriller let’s riders in each Tornado choose how fast they spin through a churning storm of excitement.

Spinout: The name explains it. Spin as fast as you can . . . around and around.

Ghost Blasters: Head inside and into the fluorescent dark as you use special laser weapons to tag those ghosts.

Old Favorites
Cave Train Adventure: Featuring many of its original 1961 cast of characters and technology of the 21st century, Cave Train Adventure was remodeled in 2000, complete with nostalgic elements families have loved for generations.

Ferris Wheel: Snuggle up and don’t be afraid of heights on this classic Boardwalk favorite.

Sky Glider: A perfect viewfinder trip from one end of the Boardwalk to the other.

Speed Bumps: Continuing the Boardwalk’s bumper car tradition, Speed Bumps light up the raceway.

Rock-O-Plane: A ferris wheel with a twist, or more like a circle, as each pod spins upside down.

Haunted Castle: Spooky, scary, and surprising, make sure and stay close to your car partner as you dare to ride through this dark house of horror.

Family Rides
Sea Serpent: A colorful family roller coaster, Sea Serpent offers early thrills for the little ones.

Speedway: It’s straight ahead with a swirling twist on this kid-friendly raceway.

Freefall: Riders are propelled up, but when will they go down? The suspense builds and then bounces down for a surprising fall of laughs.

Space Race: On this dark and starry bumper car ride, drivers may spin and move backwards as they seek someone to bump.

Convoy: That’s a ten-four, good buddy, as these trucks circle their river-view track.

Sea Dragons: Steer these dragons up or stay low to the ground on this circle of family fun.

Kiddie Thrills
Bulgy: One of the Boardwalk’s oldest kiddie rides, Bulgy is the perfect whale to introduce little ones to circling voyages.

Bumper Boats: Children steer their own boats and look for a friendly bump in the sea.

Jet Copters: Squeeze into the bubble copters and choose your altitude for a trip around the sky.

Red Baron: This flying machine lets the kids be the pilots on their own airplane ride.

Rugged Buggies: Dune buggies and convertibles make for a groovy spinning adventure.

Speed Boats: A classic childhood Boardwalk favorite, this boat ride has prompted “ahoy there” for generations.
